Hi, I'm Renee.
I’m a busy working mom, lover of books, and type-A kind of gal with a serious sweet tooth. My mission here is to help other working mothers simplify life and manage the family finances and home.
Do any of these things sound familiar?
You feel like you're always working hard, and you're making your payments, but you're just not seeing progress on debt.
You're so busy juggling work, kids, your spouse and your home that it's hard to find time for you.
You've got a "throw all that crap in there" room (or two) that you use to clean the house when people come over.
You wish there was an "easy button" to get your house, your finances and your schedule in order, because you know others that seemingly have it all perfect and under control, but you just can't seem to find the time.
I've been there.
One day I woke up and realized that even with two well-paying jobs, my husband and I had both let go of the wheel and racked up a lot of debt just living life. We were so busy with the day to day that we didn't stop to get organized at home or with our money. When we experienced a job loss, we realized we needed a new handle on our finances and life - because ours had fallen off. My "free time" was spent trying to clean the house, spend some kind of quality time with the kids, and just survive, while I already hadn't been able to fit regular working out in my schedule for a few years. There was so much clutter around the house that I could barely breathe, and I didn't feel joy in my own space. We needed change.
Since then, I've worked hard to ways to make every day just a little bit easier, to save money and help my own family work toward getting out of debt, and just in general, to have a little fun. I brought our grocery budget in line and eliminated hundreds in wasteful spending. We learned how to do things ourselves to save money. We became intentional with our money - and have seen progress on the debt. We found that organizing our house gave us more time, more money and less stress. I found a new creative outlet. We've still had fun, and our kids are happy and well-adjusted.
